Some of my top reasons to have a garden unlike all the other neighbors!
1. Save on fertilizer
Because they naturally live in boggy nutrient poor soils, carnivorous plants do not require regular fertilization. Saving time and money when it can feed itself.
2. Save on pest control
Having the ants controlled by nature is a great way to be environmental conscience when it comes to spraying chemicals.
Using sweet scents that attract bugs, and then attracting Invasive frogs at the same time.
3. Give back to nature
When builders clear land for roads and other development, a lot of the these plants habitats are lost in the the process. Reintroducing some of these spices is a great way to sort of pay back for the loss of bogs and wetlands.
4. Garden Different
Mostly everyone grows something someone else has. Not every one knows or have ever seen any type of carnivorous plants. That’s always a great way to start talking about the impact humans have on habitats we use for development. Education is the key to understanding how we can be helpful to our own environment.
5. Science
Science is always finding out the special properties of carnivorous plants. The latest findings report anti-fungal clues in the fluid used for digestion. Researchers hope to use it in drugs for human medicine. The fluids in Nepenthes pitcher have been used to relive joint pain and drank to stave off infections.
