Some bugs actually use the Pitcher Plant to their advantage. By using the Pitchers ability to capture prey, which it can then in turn steal from the plant. This spider is hanging on to a thread of it’s own, as it waits for a victim to fall in. While others align webbing among the rim of the lid, trapping an insect as it trys to get to the nectar produced by the pitcher.
Heres a little green spider as it molts before getting ready to catch some bugs!
While other bugs around the garden hang out around the trees.
Unfortunately some beneficial insects like lady bugs and bees can get caught in plants lunch menu.
But for every innocent bug there are tons more pest that it has no trouble catching!
