The Pomegranate leaves are in full growth gear.

So far the Cherry Blossom hasen’t bloomed in the florida heat, but maybe next year.

The start of a new lettuce season is under way in sunny Florida. After taste testing each variety from last season, we have planted what we found to have the best taste. Pictured below is the Ruby Red, which offers a sweet taste and textured leafs. Excellent in salads.

Below is the Four Season variety. Delicious large leafs are great for adding to hamburgers and sandwiches. When fully grown, leafs have a reddish, purple spots and are slightly textured.

Harvesting takes around 45 days. Purchased from Burpee, seed grown lettuce is a great way to start an eatable garden.

Crops include: lettuce, chill, peppers, carrots, onion, and peas.

Lots of greens have sprouted! Among the variety of lettuce include a couple different types of romaine like:

• Little Gem
• Ruby
• Rougette de Montepellier
• Green Ice
• Rosalita
• Prizeleadf
• Ruby Red Chard

Delicious berries! Never had this variety of barry before, but I must say it has a great sweet taste.

After settling into the new place, cooking has gone from a once a month thing to a twice a day gathering. Everyone who comes over is always sharing some new cooking techniques.
